Code 1700 Opus E/ware Clear Glaze Shine  (Bisque Direct) 10 Litre Jerry Can - Suitable for this biscuit fired white ware.

Glazing and Firing -

SHINE VERSION OF OUR VERSATILE EARTHENWARE GENERAL PURPOSE GLAZE

Fast drying, smooth, not too powdery when dry.
Fire items once touch dry. Takes about 5 minutes to become touch dry.

Glaze firing range 990 to 1060 Degrees C.
Check recommended firing range for your bisque to ensure compatibility.

As of 1st December 2023 the CW320 glaze firing range has been extended down to 990 Deg C. Glaze batch number will end with NS. This makes the CW320  glaze suitable for 998 Deg C firings.

Bisque Direct bisque items for everyday use 1030 to 1060 Deg C improves chip and craze resistance. Higher than 1060 Deg C is possible some customers fire up to 1100 Deg C with good results.

Best test is Bullers ring size 14 to 22.  
Soak for 30 minutes to 1 hour to achieve a very shiny finish.
Burns clear and smooth over black.

Dip quickly with a fast smooth action.
Shake a few times over the dipping bucket to remove excess glaze.
Hold till glaze stops moving then place on bench to dry.
Glaze has a relatively fast drying time - Dries in less than 5 minutes.
Items can be fired immediately after dipping.

Viscosity Cup 44ml Stainless Steel - Target reading is 21 seconds.
Shorter time means glaze is too thin. More binder required or too much water has been added. See Weight Test below.
Longer time some water in the glaze has evaporated and a small amount of distilled or deionised water should be added.

Glaze Weight Test.
Take an accurate measuring cylinder and weigh the dipping glaze. 
Target is 1360grams per litre (1000ml). You may use say a 1/2 litre (500ml) measuring cylinder for a reading of 680grams.
